So I’ve heard of Gratitude Journalling but until recently this isn’t something I have tried. So I was interested to receive a copy of 365 Days of Gratitude Journal and give it a go. On reading the introduction, Marielle provides a useful explanation of why its good to gratitude journal, the benefits of making time to do it and how best to approach the journal process.
I liked her advice to be grateful for every day that you’re able to Gratitude Journal and NOT be too hard on yourself if you miss a day. Life gets busy sometimes, we can’t always fit everything in that we’d like to do. The main point being to get back on track with the Gratitude Journal as soon as you can. This is really encouraging for beginners like me.
Following the introduction, the remainder of the book is dedicated to the daily practice using prompts. There’s space on each page to reflect on your day and write down your answers. Marielle provides various prompts including:
- Three things I’m grateful for
- Something I could have been more grateful for
- Rate my day
As well as daily prompts, there are different prompts at the end of each week and each Quarter. These are great to help review your progress and appreciate what you have and what you’ve achieved.
The weekly prompts also include an inspirational or thought provoking quote. I loved these and couldn’t resist racing through the book to read them all (sorry probably not what you should do but I couldn’t resist it). 🙂
Practical and motivating. I’m enjoying the daily ‘me time’ to reflect and appreciate more things.
This self-help book would make a lovely gift. If you know someone who loves to write, loves to journal or is in need of some mindful support then gift them this book.
